Big A Elementary honored the memory of Sandra Hayes by placing a park bench in the school’s new outdoor classroom. Ms. Sandra, as the students called her, was a long time custodian at the school who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer. Presenting the bench were Phil Cheek, Brantley and Vickie Prickett, and the students at Big A. The bench was designed and built by North Georgia Iron Works of Eastanollee Georgia. Hat Parade 2012
Turpin Gets Shaved!Big A students raised over $3000 for Jump Rope for Heart. Coach Turpin gave them a challenge and said he would shave his head if they met the goal of $2500. We exceeded that goal and Coach Turpin kept his word. Addie Jarrell raised the most money in honor of her uncle Mr. James Addison. She gave Coach Turpin a great haircut. Way to go Big A!
