Big A students attend the stem lab during "activity time” where they learn about science, technology, and engineering.

We use Project-based learning (PBL) which is a student-centered pedagogy that involves a dynamic classroom approach in which it is believed that students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. ... It is a style of active learning and inquiry-based learning.

Chicken Life Cycles

"Exciting this are happening at Big A Elementary! We introduced a brand new STEM program! Each day the students will explore something in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. For the next 6 weeks, we will also be studying Chicken Life Cycles. We have our first batch of eggs in the incubator! Many thanks to Blackberry Farmstead who generously donated the eggs for our project. Stay tuned for baby chicks!"
